How the UK does on contributing to the development of poor countries

Center for Global Development have been assessing how much richer countries do to help poor countries build prosperity, good government, and security.  The graph, above, is their take on the UK.

Overall they suggest the UK is somewhere in the middle of the pack; but is the third most improved country between 2003-2006 (behind Spain and the United States) and I notice leads in two areas (the environment and investment).

You’ll see that we do relatively poorly on migration and security; where they say we don’t let enough unskilled migrants or students into the country and that we sell too many weapons to poor and undemocratic regimes.
