Having packed the kids off to my parents for the week my partner and I are doing grown up things like going to the cinema and eating out. Yesterday’s adventure was to Moro where we celebrated our birthdays and anniversary.
The atmosphere was very relaxed – much less formal than I’d been expecting – and we had a really pleasant evening. The service was friendly (my partner got talked into eating sweetbread on the recommendation of our waitress) and the cooking was fantastic.
I’m a big fan of the style of cooking that they do, which draws on Mediterranean and Middle Eastern influences, and we often use their recipes at home. But while those meals taste great I learnt yesterday how far we are from being restaurant cooks.
Ah well, more practice.
