Someday I Will Treat You Good

Songs I’ve Downloaded This Week

The Morning News

  • kidkanevil, “The Profound Truth”

I’m quite excited about this one. As the guy says “on indefinite repeat, this is what the future will, and should, sound like.” Find out more.

Soul Detective

  • Joni Wilson, “Flame Flame Flame”

Another of those mid-tempo soul songs that I don’t seem to get enough of.

Moistworks

  • Jerry Lee Lewis, “Meat Man”

The Killer, perhaps not at the peak of his 50’s mayhem creating splendor, but given my son’s a huge fan (and we know there’s another one out there) it’s one I had to have.

Souled On

  • Erma Franklin, “Piece of My Heart”

They are all worth downloading from this post, but I particularly enjoyed this track by Aretha’s sister. More famously done by Janis Joplin, and this version isn’t quite as raw as that one, but nevertheless it’s very, very good.

Moistworks

  • Ray Sharpe, “Help Me”

This sounds so much like Save Me or Gloria as to make me wonder which came first!
