This site is worth plundering and I always try to get back every couple of weeks to top up on my Deep Soul needs. While you know it isn’t a unending well of brilliant never heard before soul sides, there does seem to be enough for a good bath or two.
- Cop Shoot Cop, “If Tomorrow Ever Comes”
In the early 1990s there were a slew of New York based bands that I really liked, in amongst them were Cop Shoot Cop. One of the reasons I liked them was their decision to go with two bass players and forgo the guitar. The track above comes from one of their Peel sessions.

Oscar Bishop is my uncle and I’m having a hard time finding his old records. He recently had a stoke and cannot talk.
