I always like to see Green Flag stories, and we have a pretty good history in getting them in this borough. Even so, this story seems a bit above and beyond the usual.
Baroness Andrews personally commended the local community and the volunteers whose efforts had transformed Bellingham Green from a neglected corner of Lewisham into the community designed and inspired area that has won the coveted green flag for the first time.
You can find the details of the 9 Lewisham Green Flag parks here. They are:
Bellingham Green, Brookmill Park, Chinbrook Meadows, Cornmill Gardens, Horniman Museum Gardens, Manor House Gardens, Manor Park, Sydenham Wells Park, and Telegraph Hill Park.
Update: tidied up to exclude a double mention of Manor House Gardens and changed to include Manor Park and Sydenham Wells, which I’d somehow missed.
