Marion Williams

One of my life’s little pleasures is to pick up a cheap CD from Greenwich market every now and again. Sometimes what you get is rubbish, but often there’s something utterly fantastic.

A couple of months ago I brought an album called Soul Gospel which has lots of good stuff on it, but in particular I just love Marion Williams doing the Bob Dylan song I Shall Be Released. I’ve had a soft spot for the song since hearing The Flying Burrito Brothers do a half finished version (another Greenwich purchase if memory serves).

Anyway here she is doing something else.

About Andrew Brown

I live in Lewisham, South East London, and spent 9 years as a Labour councillor in the borough between 1997 and 2006.
