Christmas Concert

Knights Christmas Concert Last night was the Christmas Concert at Knights where I’ve just become one of the governors.

It was my first time visiting the school and a chance to meet some of the staff and other governors.

Before the concert I got talking to one of the parent governors about how things were changing as a result of the Federation and he was very upbeat. He talked about kids wanting to learn and the enthusiasm he’d seen for the school.

I can see why if the concert is anything to go by. The sports hall was packed out with expectant parents and children. The programme was largely traditional carols with room for the steel band, guitar ensemble and a staff sining ensemble as well. Lots of, well received, enthusiastic singing.

The parent governor I was talking to said that last year’s event hadn’t been as well attended, and my sense was that he was impressed with the progress that had been made.

Much of the credit seems to lie with the new music teacher, Mr Prideaux, who has only been at the school for 3 months and his enthusiasm for the kids and music was palpable.

At the end there was a collection for Crisis at Chirstmas.
