Heathside and Lethbridge Christmas Do

My thanks to my friends from the Heathside and Lethbridge estate for inviting me to the meal this evening.

Every time I think about it I’m impressed with how much work the residents involved with the regeneration have put in, their clarity about what they hope for the estate, and the humour they bring to the process.

I’m just as impressed with the way that they’ve built relationships with Family Mosaic who are going to be making the regeneration happen.  Often those things can be dominated by the Housing Association’s desire to have a quite life, or by the cynicism of the residents.  Here I felt there was the start of a better relationship, one that was based on respect.

Anyway it was lovely to catch up on all the things that have been happening and to hear the gossip.

Hope the Lib Dem councillors’ ears are burning!
