Stuart – a life backwards

I really should get round to reading books I’ve been given more quickly than I do.

Anyway, just started this one which looks as if it will be great, if harrowing.

The book tells the story of Stuart a ‘thief, hostage-taker, psycho and street raconteur’.  The point in the book I’ve got to is where Stuart and Alexander Masters (the author) are involved in the campaign to free the Cambridge Two.

Favourite quotes so far:

“That’s elitist!” snapped back a Socialist Worker, dressed in solid black. “Why should you be allowed to get arrested when the rest of us can’t?”

And:

“I thought that middle class people had something wrong with them. But they’re just ordinary.”
