Livesey Museum for Children

Almost every time I’m on a bus going down the Old Kent Road with my children we take a look for what’s on at the Livesey Museum.

It is one of the museums that they really enjoy going to.

So it’s a bit shocking to hear that it’s under threat of closure by the Lib Dem & Tory administration in Southwark Council.  The Livesey’s unofficial website says:

The Livesey Museum is due to be closed by Southwalk Council as part of its budget cuts.  The Museum may be shut as early as April 2008.

There’s a lively Facebook campaign to save the museum (and the Cumming museum which is also under threat of closure).  And for those of you not Facebooked up, but sympathetic to the aims of the campaigners then there’s an online petition where you can express your support.

With thanks to John and Bridget who’ve brought this to my attention.
