An idea for Boris (and Sir Steve)

Anyone who travels on the bus will know that the drivers are wont to use their brakes quite aggressively, usually just as you’re trying to get your small children to get up or down the stairs!

But apparently if they didn’t do it there could be quite large fuel savings, something that with oil prices having doubled over the last year should be quite attractive to TfL and the Mayor.

As the authors of the post say:

We are awaiting the first city employment contract for bus drivers that includes wage bonuses for hitting fuel efficiency targets.

Of course, there’s a local application for this idea here in Lewisham given the council runs a fleet of buses too and I’ll raise it with the powers that be.
