  • Lewisham has received Youth Capital and Youth Opportunity funding (YOF) from Government to develop, respectively, places to go and things to do for young people in 2008/2009. The report provides the requirements of the Youth Capital and Youth Opportunity funding, as well as proposals, with rationale, for its allocation.
  • The Leathersellers’ Federation of Schools has asked the LA to make a new instrument of government for the federation; the federation comprises a voluntary aided school Prendergast to be renamed ‘Prendergast Hilly Fields College’ and a community school Crofton to be renamed ‘Prendergast Ladywell Fields College’.
  • The National Union of Teachers solicitors seek the withdrawal of the statutory notice in relation to the proposed discontinuance of Lewisham Bridge Primary School and for the Council to reject the proposal that it should maintain an all age foundation school. The council sets out why it doesn’t believe it should follow that course of action.
  • This report describes the background to the choice by Lewisham of the site of the current Lewisham Bridge Primary School as the location for a new all-age school, and the proposal by the Leathersellers Company to establish that school. It then sets out the responses to the publication by the Leathersellers Company and the London Borough of Lewisham of a joint statutory notice to establish a 3-16 Foundation school proposed by the Leathersellers Company
on the site of Lewisham Bridge Primary School, and to close Lewisham Bridge Primary School. It asks the Mayor to agree, subject to the provisos set out in the recommendations, that from September 1st 2010, the new all-age Foundation school which is proposed to be called Prendergast -The Vale College, should be established, and that from 31st August 2010 Lewisham Bridge Primary School should be formally discontinued.
  • Exclusion of the press and public on the confidential parts of the New School decisions.
