Heidi asks “how much for decent homes in Lewisham?”

Heidi Alexander (Lewisham East, Labour)

To ask the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government what proportion of the planned funding for decent homes announced in the comprehensive spending review will be made available to the Lewisham arms length management organisation.

Andrew Stunell (Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Communities and Local Government; Hazel Grove, Liberal Democrat)

In the spending review we announced that we will invest over £2 billion of capital funding to help towards completing the Decent Homes programme. Of this, nearly £1.6 billion will be available over the next four years to help make local authority homes decent. We will be working with the Homes and Communities Agency to ensure that funding is allocated where it is needed. On 11 November we launched a consultation document jointly with the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) containing our proposals for managing the allocation process.
