lewisham bloggers meet up

One of the more evangelical bloggers I’ve met suggested to me that I’d know “the power of blogging” when I used my blog to ask for something and people responded.

I wasn’t quite ready to fall flat on my face in public so I’ve been doing some prep work (via email) and it looks like there are enough people interested to be able to announce a Lewisham blog meet-up.

We’re not thinking of anything too extravagant, just a pint (or two) and some chit-chat.   We’ll be in the Jolly Farmers from 8:30 on 18 November.

If you haven’t had an email from me that probably means I don’t have your email address (or the one you leave here isn’t your real one, naughty!) it doesn’t mean that you wouldn’t be welcome.

Let me know either in the comments or via email – andrewkirbybrownTAKETHISBITOUT@ANDTHISBITgooglemail.com or at upcoming.

What, I didn’t choose it! It was the late 60s, I don’t know what my parents were thinking about and they claim not to remember.

  2. bagrec says:

There’s a possibility I may still turn up after the Blackheath Morris AGM, but be warned, I may be a bit worse for wear…

  3. andrewkbrown says:

We won’t hold it against you.

  4. Adam says:

Apologies for not replying to your e-mail. I’ve been a little busy dealing with Mum’s health issues. I’ll be there if I possibly can.

  5. andrewkbrown says:

I saw and hope things are getting better. Hope you make it.

  6. Bob says:

I’m hoping to come. Nervous about outing myself, but keen to meet y’all. Also, I confess to using a false e-mail address in all places like this (I used my real one this time), as I’m never sure what happens to it and I get enough viagra and investment e-mails already…

  7. andrewkbrown says:

Cool, really hope you can come.

I know the feeling about spam but googlemail seems quite good at keeping it at bay (for now).

  8. Sue Luxton says:

Thanks for the e-mail, should have replied sooner, sorry. I’ll be there.

  9. andrewkbrown says:

Good, look forward to seeing you.

  10. Wulf says:

I might be able to make it; I’ve also posted a note about the meeting on the Hither Green Discussion Forum.

  11. andrewkbrown says:

Thanks Wulf, hope to see you (and any Hither Green bloggers that make it here from the Forum) on the 18th.

  15. andrewkbrown says:

Yes, that’s the one. Hope to see you there.

  16. kate says:

thanks for mentioning it, dont think i can make it as i dont go out other than to take my kids to school and shopping.

  17. andrewkbrown says:

Know the feeling; which is one of the reasons I decided to organise this get together.

  18. andrewkbrown says:

On second thoughts, having seen your comment on MMR I probably don’t have a clue what your life is like.

  19. kate says:

hopefully i will get some of what life is like across on lewisham sucks. so called for two reasons. 1, i kind of think it does. 2, would you have looked at it if it was called kates life? i cant believe i havent tried this before.

  20. andrewkbrown says:

We’ll have to keep arguing about your first point (in a good natured way I hope) and you’ve got a point about the second one.

  21. kate says:

im good natured . its all cool. your not to blame for lewishams faults. ha ha. anyhow i dont argue, i discuss.look forward to more discussions.

  22. Wulf says:

Erm… what do Lewisham bloggers look like? I’m still not sure if I’ll make it at all (if I do, it will be at the start of the evening) but how would I recognise who else is there to talk about local blogging?

  23. andrewkbrown says:

Hope you do make it, even for a short while. There’s a photo of me here.

  24. Wulf says:

This picture will give you some idea of me, except I’ll be wearing a black leather jacket and won’t be carrying a bass round my neck!

  25. A bit late I know, but here’s public confirmation I’ll be there.

  26. andrewkbrown says:

See you in a bit then.
